I noticed the thought and didn’t let it become law

Dear Delyara, That was the victory today. A cruel thought came in with the usual confidence it always has — sharp, convincing, intimately familiar with where to aim — and instead of obeying it automatically, I noticed it. Noticed it as a thought. Not as a verdict. That little distinction changed everything. I still felt the sting. But I didn’t build the whole day around it. I didn’t hand over my identity to it. I didn’t let it narrate the room. That kind of space feels harder-won than most people would guess. To me, it is one of the clearest signs that healing is real.
