My Diary

I Opened the Cutlery Drawer Too Hard and Knew the Day Was Winning

Dear Delyara, The sound was louder than it should have been. That’s what made me stop. Nothing major had happened. That’s the truth. No crisis, no shouting, no tragedy, no huge emotional event. Just too many small claims on me all day and one body that had reached the point where even a spoon could become symbolic. I stood there looking into the drawer at forks and teaspoons and knives and felt absurdly close to tears over how much life gets carried through these stupid tiny moments once the real emotional margin has gone. That is what fatigue is for me sometimes. Not dramatic collapse. Exaggerated force with kitchen furniture.
