I paid six months of rent in advance from money I saved myself

I spent two years rebuilding: secured card, regular payments, extra shifts, a savings account my ex could not see. When I finally found a landlord willing to rent to me, I offered six months in advance because I had saved enough. Yesterday, I transferred the money and received the keys. The amount leaving my account was terrifying, but it was money I had accumulated deliberately, not borrowed, hidden, or requested from someone controlling me. My daughter chose the smaller bedroom because it has better light. I slept on the floor last night because the furniture arrives tomorrow. Financial success was not feeling rich.
