I passed the building and only remembered afterwards why it used to unsettle me
Dear Delyara, There was a time when I would feel the body-drop first — stomach, chest, breath, the whole old pattern — before I consciously clocked the place. This week I walked past, continued on, and only later thought, oh, that used to be one of the places. The place had lost speed over me. That is the best way I can say it. Healing doesn’t always feel noble in the moment. Sometimes it feels like forgetting to be afraid until after the opportunity has passed.
