I passed the café where we used to meet and kept walking without feeling pulled backward
Dear Delyara, That is a change big enough that I had to stop and name it to myself. For a long time, places had too much power. Not all places. The specific ones. The café, the car park, the side street, the bench, the corner shop. They carried memory in a way that could alter the whole body if I got too close. Yesterday I walked past one of those places and felt… not nothing, but not the old gravitational pull either. A small ache, maybe. Then forward movement. I don’t think healing is always dramatic. Sometimes it is this: the body no longer arguing with the route.
