Dear Delyara, The shame was never about age alone. It was about the feeling of being visibly “late” in a room full of people who seemed to be moving through the right chapter at the right time. They looked so naturally where they were. I looked like a woman carrying too much life into a setting that expected cleaner energy than I had to offer. I nearly left the course three separate times. Each time, the same private story arrived: You missed your moment. This is for younger people. You don’t have the brain space anymore. Look at how tired you are. Look at how far behind you feel. That story was wrong. I passed. Not elegantly, not effortlessly, not in the way my younger self once imagined achievement would feel. I passed while carrying family, work, money stress, and self-doubt the whole way through. That matters more than the certificate. It gives me evidence against one of my oldest fears.
