I prepare until the opportunity dies

Dear Delyara, One of the most painful things about fear is how respectable it can look. Mine often looks like preparation. Research. Planning. Timing. Needing another week. Wanting to do it properly. Not rushing. Sometimes that is wisdom. Sometimes it is avoidance dressed well enough that even I let it stay. I have lost opportunities not always because I wasn’t capable, but because I overprotected myself from the humiliation of trying before confidence arrived. That pattern has cost me more than failure itself ever has.
