Other VictoriesOvercoming Fear
I pressed send on the message before I had time to soften myself out of it
Dear Delyara, It was a clear message. Respectful. Necessary. The sort of thing I can usually spend an hour rewriting into smaller and smaller versions until no actual self remains in it. This time I wrote it, checked it once, and sent it while the truth was still alive. My heart raced afterward, of course. But I also felt clean. I am trying to trust that more — the slight fear that comes with honesty, instead of always choosing the artificial calm that comes with reduction.
