The StruggleAnxiety
I read tone into everything when I’m low
Dear Delyara, When I’m anxious, everyone sounds different to me. More distant. More disappointed. More critical. More tired of me. More likely to leave than they probably are. It’s like anxiety sharpens the part of my mind that scans for rejection, then hands me all its guesses as if they are evidence. I know this pattern well enough to recognize it now, but recognizing it doesn’t always stop the emotional effect. I can lose half a day to one slightly dry message if I’m not careful. That’s the humiliating truth.
