My Diary
I realized I hadn’t sat down properly since lunch
Dear Delyara, I think this is what being stretched too thin looks like in a house. You keep moving because movement is easier than noticing what the body is asking for. You stand at the counter, stand by the sink, stand folding clothes, stand at the cooker, stand answering questions from room to room, stand while eating something quickly because sitting would mean admitting the day had already taken more than you wanted to give it. Last night, I noticed. Then I sat. And the sadness came faster than I expected.
