I received the care without needing to fight the awkwardness all night
Dear Delyara, That felt like peace in a small family-shaped form. The care still came through familiar imperfect channels, but I didn’t spend the rest of the evening arguing with the form of it in my head. I could let the concern count without demanding a different history before I allowed myself to feel it. That does not erase old sadness. It simply gives me a little more room around it. And room is often where healing begins.
