The WeightRegret
I regret how often I chose being acceptable over being honest
Dear Delyara, There are whole phases of my life built around acceptability. Safer tone. Smaller truth. Less demand. More digestible versions of myself. It worked, in the sense that it reduced conflict and kept rooms smoother. But it also taught me to live too far from my own center for too long. And some nights I can feel that as grief more than memory. Tonight is one of those nights.
