I replaced the bra that had been hurting me for months
Dear Delyara, I know that sounds ridiculous as a victory, but it isn’t. I have a habit of enduring low-grade discomfort for far too long when the discomfort belongs to me. Shoes, bras, headaches, tiredness, posture, hunger — if the cost is mine, I can become very “sensible” very quickly and call it maturity. In truth, sometimes it’s just self-neglect with better branding. This week I stopped in the shop after work, got measured properly, and bought one that actually fits. When I wore it the next day, I realised how much daily irritation I had normalised simply because I thought my own comfort didn’t deserve to become a priority. There is something powerful in correcting a problem that only you have been feeling all this time. It says: your body is not the afterthought.
