The AwakeningSelf Love
I replaced the old pillow before another month of neck pain taught me the lesson again
Dear Delyara, I have a bad habit of learning the same lesson through repeated discomfort when I could simply act sooner. This week I didn’t. The pillow had been wrong for months. Every morning I woke with that same low-grade stiffness and told myself all the familiar stories — I’ll sort it later, it’s not urgent, I’ve slept on worse, there are more important things. Then I stopped and heard the truth under the stories: I was making my own comfort optional again. So I bought a new pillow. It’s such an unglamorous form of self-respect. Still, I think that’s exactly why it matters.
