I reported the man who followed me home

Dear Delyara, For three months, a man followed me from the station several times a week. I changed trains, wore different clothes, and walked through crowded stores before going home. I told myself I had no proof because he had not touched me. Then he left a note under my apartment door with my work schedule written on it. I photographed everything and contacted a support center. An advocate helped me make a police report, speak to my employer, and request security footage from the station. The police identified him and issued a formal warning while the court considered a protective order. My company changed my shifts temporarily and arranged transportation. Yesterday, I took my usual train home for the first time in weeks. I was still afraid. I kept checking reflections in windows and gripping my phone. Courage did not feel calm. It felt like refusing to reorganize my entire life around someone else’s decision to frighten me. I reached my apartment, locked the door, and realized I had walked home on my own route again.
