I said the full truth in the appointment and got real help instead of polite reassurance

Dear Delyara, I say tired when I mean frightened. I say stressed when I mean my body no longer feels like mine by evening. I say a lot going on when I mean I am not coping as well as I look. I protect rooms from the full scale of what I’m carrying, and then I leave those rooms with half-help because I handed over half-truths. This time I didn’t. I said the real things: the fatigue, the mental fuzziness, the shortness of patience, the distance from myself, the way ordinary life has started costing too much emotionally, the way I am frightened by how normal I have made it all sound. The appointment changed because I did. The questions got better. The care got more serious. So did I. That matters to me deeply. Not because I got instant answers. Because I stopped making my suffering smaller to make everyone else more comfortable.
