I Said What I Actually Thought
Dear Delyara, I spoke up at work this week in a way I usually avoid. Not loudly. Not aggressively. Just clearly. I said what I thought, without wrapping it in too much apology or softening it into near-invisibility. I didn’t over-explain. I didn’t rush to make it easier to hear. I just trusted that what I had to say deserved room. That may sound small. For me, it felt like a shift in self-respect. There are professional victories that don’t change your job title but still change your relationship to your own voice.
