My Diary

I sat down to rest and remembered the school payment

Dear Delyara, That’s how it always happens. The body lowers into the chair, the first breath of relief starts to arrive, and then some unfinished thing rises out of the back of my mind like a hand from dark water. This time it was the school payment due tomorrow. Not huge. Not impossible. Just one more thing waiting for me at the exact moment I wanted to stop being available to life for ten minutes. I got back up, found the phone, logged in, paid it, checked the email confirmation, and sat down again with a body that no longer believed rest would be uninterrupted. That is one of the hardest parts of my days now. Not the amount I do. The way rest keeps getting interrupted by what I remembered too late.
