Small JoysQuiet Moments
I sat in sunlight and did absolutely nothing useful
Dear Delyara, It lasted maybe eight minutes. I didn’t fold anything while I was there. I didn’t answer anyone. I didn’t call it mindfulness or make it part of some bigger healthy-person story. I just sat in the patch of afternoon light near the window because it felt warm and I was tired. That’s all. And somehow it felt almost rebellious. I think I have been productive for so long that purposeless pleasure now feels unusual enough to deserve recording. Not expensive pleasure. Not special pleasure. Just being in a warm patch of light while nothing was asked of me. That did more for my mood than most sensible plans do.
