Small JoysQuiet Moments

I sat in the garden with a blanket and no one needed me for fifteen whole minutes

Dear Delyara, No one called out. No one asked where something was. No app lit up. No child remembered something urgent from tomorrow. No work message entered the room pretending not to be work because it arrived “just quickly.” It was just me, a blanket, cool air, and a body finally not being used for anything at all. Those fifteen minutes gave me more relief than some entire weekends have recently. Maybe because they were complete. Maybe because they were unearned. Maybe because they let me exist without function. Whatever the reason, the effect was real. I came back inside softer. And that softness travelled through the rest of the evening in a way that made the whole house easier to live in.
