My Diary

I sat on the edge of my bed with my shoes still on because changing felt like another task

Dear Delyara, Not dramatic tiredness. The kind that doesn’t collapse. The kind that just stops halfway between roles because becoming the next version of yourself requires more energy than you have left. I had come upstairs to get changed and ended up sitting there, coat still on, shoes still on, work still in my body, home already waiting downstairs. I think too few people understand the cost of transition. Not travel. Emotional transition. How many times a day women are expected to become a different kind of useful person without any real pause between those selves.
