My Diary
I sat on the edge of the bath before turning the taps on
Dear Delyara, I had come upstairs to shower, but when I got into the bathroom, I just sat there. Still dressed. Still tired. Still carrying the whole day in my shoulders. I think sometimes the body reaches a point where even care feels like one more task. Even a shower. Even washing your face. Even taking your bra off. Everything requires movement, and when you’ve already been moving for other people since morning, your own needs can start feeling like extra weight instead of relief. Eventually I turned the taps on. But those two quiet minutes on the edge of the bath felt more honest than the whole rest of the evening.
