My Diary

I sat on the edge of the bed with my shoes still on

Dear Delyara, Coat still on too. Bag on the floor. Work still in my body. Home already waiting downstairs. I had come upstairs to change and just… stopped. That moment felt more honest than most of the day. Not collapsed. Not dramatic. Just the quiet failure of transition that happens when a woman has spent too many hours being useful in one version of herself and cannot yet gather the energy required to become the next one. After five minutes, I got up and changed and went back down. Still, those five minutes told the truth. Sometimes exhaustion is just a person unable to remove their shoes yet.
