Small JoysQuiet Moments
I sat on the floor in a patch of sunlight and did absolutely nothing productive
Dear Delyara, It lasted maybe eight minutes. No phone. No tidying while I was there. No “since I’m here I may as well…” No turning the moment into self-improvement or a future anecdote about balance. I just sat in the warmth like a cat in a quiet room and let the day stop making demands for a minute. I think I have become so trained toward usefulness that useless pleasure can still feel almost rebellious. That’s part of why it mattered. The sunlight moved eventually. I got up and carried on. The eight minutes were still real.
