My Diary

I sat on the stairs before going the rest of the way up

Dear Delyara, Tonight I came home, went halfway upstairs, and then sat down. I wasn’t injured. I wasn’t doing anything dramatic. I think I just couldn’t fully carry myself into the rest of the evening yet. That’s how some tiredness feels to me now. Not like collapse, but like reluctance. A quiet resistance to entering the next part of the day because I know that once I do, it will all become visible again — the room, the tasks, the silence, the parts of myself I haven’t had time to meet properly while life was still moving. So I sat there in the middle. Not downstairs. Not up. Just between. It felt like the most honest place to be for a few minutes.
