Small JoysQuiet Moments
I Sat On The Stairs For Two Minutes Because It Was The Only Place In The House That Felt Like A Pause
Dear Delyara, Not the sofa. Not the bed. Not the kitchen. Those rooms still hold too much function. But the stairs, somehow, belonged to no one for a moment. Halfway between tasks, halfway between roles, halfway between floors, as if the body found a place that didn’t yet know what it wanted from me. So I sat. Just two minutes. Long enough to breathe. Long enough not to answer anyone. Long enough to feel my own name inside me before the next thing arrived. That tiny pause mattered more than it should have. And maybe that’s exactly why it mattered.
