I sat the exam even though my confidence had already left the room before I entered it
Dear Delyara, I had prepared as well as I could, but in the last twenty-four hours before the exam, confidence drained out of me in that familiar ugly way. Every topic I thought I knew suddenly looked weak. Every page of notes started feeling too thin. By the time I arrived, I felt like an impostor with stationery. Still, I sat it. I answered what I could, stayed until the end, and refused to walk out early just because fear had dressed itself up as certainty. Whether I pass or not, there is a part of me that feels stronger for having remained in the room instead of obeying the panic that told me I didn’t belong there. That matters. Especially at my age, when courage often wears less glamorous clothes than it did when I was younger.
