I saw care in a form I would once have missed
Dear Delyara, A parent did something small this week that moved me because, a few years ago, I might have only noticed the awkwardness of it. This time I saw the care first. That felt like its own growth. Not because the past changed. Because my vision widened enough to include more truth at once. I’m beginning to understand that some people love in forms that are not naturally fluent to me. That doesn’t make the love unreal. It just makes it easier to miss unless I am willing to look more generously than hurt once allowed. That willingness is new. And valuable.
