I Sent the Proposal I Had Been Delaying for Months Because Shame Had Been Dressing Itself Up as Preparation

Dear Delyara, I kept saying I was “still working on it.” What I was really doing was hiding. As long as the proposal remained unfinished, no one could reject it. I could still imagine it succeeding. I could still be the person who “has ideas” without becoming the person who actually places one into the world and risks watching reality answer. This week I finished it. Then I sent it. The sending was the hardest part. Not because the proposal was imperfect. Because I had to stop living in potential and let reality in. That felt like a major victory to me. Not because I know the outcome. Because I finally chose actual movement over protected fantasy. And I think a lot of my life needs more of that exact kind of courage.
