The PlotFear of Failure

I sometimes think I’m waiting for confidence when I’m really waiting for permission

Dear Delyara, Permission to be visible. Permission to try. Permission to be ordinary while doing something meaningful. Permission to not already be impressive at the beginning. I tell myself I’ll move when I feel more confident, but often what I’m actually waiting for is some inner authority to remove the risk of embarrassment entirely. That permission rarely comes. Life keeps moving anyway. I know that. Still, there are parts of me standing by the door with packed bags, waiting to be officially allowed to begin.
