My Diary

I spent the whole day wanting to be left alone

Dear Delyara, Not because I hate people. Because I had nothing spare to offer them. That was the feeling all day. I could do the practical things. Reply. Work. Be polite. Show up. But every interaction felt like it was taking from a part of me that had already been overused. I’m tired of how much energy basic social functioning can cost when you are already emotionally low. The worst part is that because I can still “perform okay,” most people don’t know when I’m running on almost nothing. I think a lot of adults are silently over-socialized. We look fine and feel invaded.
