I spoke to myself more gently today

Dear Delyara, I made a mistake and did not insult myself for it. That is the entry. I know it sounds simple, but it isn’t simple when self-criticism has been your first language for years. I corrected what I could, acknowledged the error, and continued without turning it into proof that I am fundamentally flawed. That felt like a real kind of love. Not dramatic love. Usable love.
