I still apologise before I understand what happened

Dear Delyara, If the room changes, if someone sounds off, if there’s tension, if a sentence lands badly, I can feel myself moving toward apology before I’ve even properly checked whether I did anything wrong. It’s as if some part of me still believes that keeping the peace quickly matters more than knowing the truth clearly. That reflex has cost me so much. It makes me smaller. It makes me less clear. It makes me carry blame that doesn’t always belong to me. And the saddest part is how automatic it still feels when I’m tired or emotionally exposed. That’s when the old patterns come back wearing my voice.
