I still feel embarrassed by how much one bad night can affect the next day
Dear Delyara, Poor sleep should be allowed to make a person less steady. That is obvious. And yet when it happens to me, I still judge it. If I sleep badly and wake thinner, sharper, more fragile, more emotionally expensive to live inside, shame gets there quickly. It says I should cope better, recover faster, perform normal more elegantly. It treats basic human limitation like a flaw in discipline. I am tired of that voice. Some days I am not dramatic. I am under-slept. And still, I can feel myself trying to make that sound morally prettier than it is. It doesn’t need to be pretty. It needs to be respected.
