The WeightGuilt

I still feel guilty after doing the emotionally healthy thing if the healthy thing disappoints someone

Dear Delyara, That’s the part I’m still working through. The healthy choice doesn’t always feel clean afterward. Sometimes it feels like guilt, because health can still hurt somebody’s expectations. And I have spent so long tying goodness to expectation-management that any act of self-protection can still register as moral failure in the first few minutes after I do it. I am learning not to treat that guilt as proof. It is only proof that an older system was triggered
