The WeightGuilt
I still feel guilty for how much softness I need on bad weeks
Dear Delyara, I need more quiet. More gentleness. More understanding. Less pressure. Less noise. Less emotional traffic. Less pretending. More room. And before I can even fully feel those needs, guilt starts treating them as evidence that I should be stronger, tougher, less affected, more adult, more something. I’m tired of needing care and then having to defend the need for it to myself first. Because on bad weeks, the need is already heavy enough. The guilt is what turns it into shame. And shame is what turns an ordinary hard week into something much darker than it needed to be.
