The WeightGuilt

I still feel guilty for needing gentleness

Dear Delyara, A kinder tone. More room. Less pressure. Less noise. More understanding. Less demand. More time to recover. Those are not outrageous needs on bad weeks. Still, some old severe part of me keeps reacting to them as if they are proof that I am not robust enough, not disciplined enough, not adult enough, not strong enough. It treats softness like indulgence when actually softness is often the only thing keeping me from becoming hard in all the wrong ways. I’m tired of that inner cruelty. It makes normal exhaustion feel like a moral failure instead of a human state.
