The WeightGuilt
I still feel guilty for wanting rest before I look exhausted enough to deserve it
Dear Delyara, It’s not that I don’t believe in rest. I just keep acting as if rest should have to defend itself in court. There should be evidence. Visible signs. A strong enough case. I’m tired, yes, but am I tired enough? I want quiet, yes, but have I earned it? I need less tonight, yes, but am I being weak or merely honest? That internal questioning drains the rest before it even begins. And maybe that is the cruelest part. I am learning how much earlier kindness could have changed my life. That realization is beautiful and painful both.
