I still feel guilty when I cancel because I’m tired

Dear Delyara, Even when tiredness is the honest answer. Even when relief floods my body the second I send the cancellation. Even when experience has already taught me that forcing myself through plans in that state only makes me emptier and slightly false. Still, guilt comes. It tells me I’m shrinking, becoming difficult, becoming less fun, becoming too affected by life. It rewrites my limit as a flaw before the evening has even begun. Then I stay home and feel my whole system relax, and I know the cancellation was the right thing. But I wish the right thing didn’t so often have to arrive carrying shame with it first.
