The WeightGuilt
I still feel guilty when I need to become less available
Dear Delyara, Even when the reason is completely human. Too tired. Too full. Too overstimulated. Too internally crowded to keep answering with kindness. And still guilt arrives. As if less availability means I am becoming unkind, selfish, difficult, disappointing. It’s as though some older part of me still believes goodness is measured by how reachable I remain, no matter what it costs. I know that is not sustainable. Knowing does not make the guilt disappear. I am trying to build a kinder relationship to needing distance. Slowly.
