The StruggleBurnout
I still function, but I don’t really arrive
Dear Delyara, This is how burnout feels to me now: I still show up, but I don’t really arrive. I complete tasks without inhabiting them. Answer people without feeling emotionally present in the exchange. Move through routines as if I’m maintaining a life rather than living one. There is something eerie about continuing successfully enough to look okay while privately feeling absent from your own days. That absence is what scares me most. Not collapse. Detachment.
