I still grieve how ordinary love once was
Dear Delyara, What returns to me most often are not the big memories. It’s the ordinary ones. The shape of another person in the room. The tiny assumptions of togetherness. The way certain routines didn’t need language because they had become shared weather. That is what grief still touches in me. Not the dramatic version. The domestic one. I think losing ordinary companionship is one of the most underestimated forms of heartbreak.
