I still grieve the ordinary parts most

Dear Delyara, Not the anniversaries. Not the big dramatic memories. The ordinary parts. The person at the end of the day. The shared eye-roll. The way someone used to witness your daily life in small pieces before it had to become a full story. The simple fact that another adult knew the atmosphere of the same house from inside and not from description. That is what I still miss sometimes. Not the marriage as a concept. The ordinary witness of it. Divorce grief gets described in such large words sometimes that people forget the small losses are often the ones that cut deepest and longest.
