The BondDivorce
I still miss having someone at the end of the day
Dear Delyara, I miss being able to hand the ordinary day to someone who was already partly inside its shape. The school drama, the odd email, the stupid little joke, the cost of the groceries, the child’s mood, my own mood, the way the weather felt in the house. I miss not having to fully translate daily life before it could land somewhere warm. That may be what hurts most now. Not the big dramatic loss people expect. The ordinary witness. Divorce took that too. And some evenings I feel the absence of it like a physical gap beside me.
