I still miss ordinary companionship more than I miss the romance
Dear Delyara, That might be the truest thing I can say now. What I miss most is not the grand love story. It’s the ordinary shared life. The practical witness. Another pair of footsteps. Another presence in the room. The small certainty of someone else’s timing existing alongside mine. I know the relationship had to end. That knowledge doesn’t stop the body from grieving the ordinary architecture of partnership. Sometimes grief is not dramatic. It is just reaching for a familiar shape and finding empty space.
