I still miss the handover at the end of the day
Dear Delyara, Not romance. Not fantasy. The handover. That ordinary place where the day could land without full translation because the other person already knew the shape of the house, the children, the money, the tension, the route, the weather, the little humiliations, the stupid funny things. Someone who already stood inside the frame of your life enough that you didn’t have to build the whole context from scratch. I miss that most on tired nights. The witness. The emotional shorthand. The place where the day doesn’t have to remain entirely yours by bedtime. That absence still has weight in me.
