I still miss the handover at the end of the day more than anything dramatic
Dear Delyara, The place where the day could land without full translation because somebody already knew the context. The child’s mood. The money pressure. The reason I sounded flat. The thing that happened at work. The exact kind of tired I meant without me having to explain it from the beginning. That intimacy of shared understanding is what I miss most. Now too much of the day stays with me by bedtime because explaining it feels heavier than carrying it silently. That is a lonely way to end a day. And it still surprises me how much I feel that absence in the smallest hours more than in the big dramatic memories.
