The BondFriendship

I still mourn friendships that ended quietly more than the explosive ones

Dear Delyara, The explosive ones at least declare themselves. The quiet endings are harder. The drifting. The thinning. The increasingly delayed responses. The warmth that becomes politeness. The sense that something is leaving before anyone names that it has gone. Those losses are difficult because there is no scene to organize the grief around. Just gradually reduced oxygen. And sometimes I wonder if that’s why they stay with me longer.
