I still think about one thing someone said years ago

Dear Delyara, It’s ridiculous what the mind keeps. Someone said something to me years ago — one sentence, maybe two — and somehow it still lives in me. Not loudly, not every day, but enough that it can still return in the wrong moment and change the way I see myself for a while. That is what frightens me about certain words. How long they can outlive the speaker. I wish memory were less loyal to pain.
