My Diary

I still want an apology I may never get

Dear Delyara, I’m old enough to know I may never get the apology. Still, some part of me wants it. Not because it would fix everything. Not because I still think the past can be repaired completely. Just because there is something deeply human about wanting harm to be named by the person who caused it. I have understanding. I have context. I have grown. And still, I want one honest sentence from them. That want has not disappeared with maturity. It has only become quieter.
